Lysergic acid diethylamide is a renowned potent psychedelic drug that can be used for a number of different applications, depending on how much one takes and why. In regards to this, dosing is as much an art as it is a science. Everyone is different, so there is a lot that can go into the production of an appropriate state of consciousness. However, there are lots of generalizations that can be made. I personally categorize LSD in the following way:
~10 micrograms (Nootropic)
~100 micrograms (Therapeutic)
~1000 micrograms (Entheogenic)
(25 mics) A dose this size will produce very mild euphoria, along with a reduction in anxiety, and a sense of enhanced task appreciation.
(50 mics) This is the level at which visual perception typically begins to change, leading to the experience of seeing brighter lights and more intensified colors.
(100 mics) This is the threshold for introspection and serious contemplation, at which point reminiscent thoughts begin to flood the mind.
(250 mics) Really profound life changing realizations tend to start happening at about this dose. This is the level at which the peak effects start to get really strong.
(500 mics) This is the dose at which temporal distortions, synesthesia, and other non-ordinary effects can start become overwhelming. There are also really intense open and closed eye visuals.
(750 mics) This can lead to extra-sensory phenomena, like an out of body experience or premonition. Archetypal shamanic content containing imagery from other cultures can even present itself.
(1000 mics) A dose this large can result in crushing ontological shock or bring about a life-altering spiritual awakening through renewed sense of purpose. This can completely restructure worldviews and permanently change habits.
(1500 mics) On this much acid, cognition and vision are likely to be fully bathed in the brilliant light of the ultimate source of everything. This usually produces an extreme condition of egolessness through a state of complete cosmic interconnection. This experience can get really intense and even lead to a process very similar to dying.
Please trip responsibly.
